Description
TECHNOMELT PA 653 polyamide hot melt for molding applications
TECHNOMELT PA 653 is a one-component thermoplastic polyamide hot melt developed for molding applications. The product was formerly known as Macromelt OM 653. It cures by physical setting as the molten thermoplastic material cools and solidifies.
The material combines flexibility with temperature resistance. It provides a typical elongation of 400%, a hardness of 77 Shore A and low-temperature flexibility down to −50°C. Henkel specifies an operating temperature range of −40°C to +100°C, depending on the application and without mechanical stress.
TECHNOMELT PA 653 is processed using hot melt application systems at temperatures between 180°C and 230°C. Melt viscosity decreases from approximately 6,000 mPa·s at 200°C to 2,500 mPa·s at 230°C, allowing processing conditions to be adjusted within the specified application temperature range.
